Snowcat Driving

Snowcats date back to 1957 and were used during the cold war by NATO to break up ice and move snow in sub-zero temperatures. Snowcats look similar to bulldozers and are a tracked truck-vehicle, otherwise known as •trail groomersê that use a plow blade to push away the snow. They are so effective in blizzard conditions that are used by search and rescue, police, farmers and for gaining access to mountain tops. Ski resorts also use them and you can even take a snowcat tour through snow covered mountain routes if you didnêt fancy skiing them..
