Ski Jumping

The first person known to ski jump was a Norwegian Lieutenant, who was recorded to have jumped over nine meters in the air, back in 1809. Since then, ski jumping has literally taken off and is now seen in the Winter Olympics. The aim of ski jumping is to win points for the style of a skierês jump. The sport takes place on snow and the aim is to land as far away as possible once taking off from a ramp. Each point is awarded on the flight, landing and the outrun after the landing until the skier stops..
