Longboard Surfing

Longboarding is the original form of surfing and, some would contend, still the best. The history of longboard surfing appears to date as far back as the sixth century in ancient Hawaiian culture, but it wasnêt until the early 20th century that it was popularised elsewhere. Modern longboards are typically 9 to 12 feet long and have a broad, round nose. Longboards are popular both with beginners and experts thanks to the fact that they make it easier to catch waves than shorter boards. Longboards are the iconic form of surfboarding and once youêve been out on the waves on one, itês not hard to see why.
